Act Like It Is Impossible to Fail

Did you know that if Facebook were a country, it would be the world’s third largest?  It has over 800,000,000 members.

Did you know that there are 7 billion humans on this planet and one in five are global internet users? According to statistics, nine out of ten Australians go online. Australians spend an average time of fifteen hours a week online compared to only twelve hours per week watching TV. In that case, the internet is the new TV.

What about Youtube? Let’s look at some statistics.  With 700 million plus worldwide users and 3 billion videos streamed per day (an average site visit of thirty minutes), Youtube is, undisputedly, the world’s second largest search engine.

We will soon be watching “you tube” over traditional tele.

Have I convinced you the digital landscape is rapidly changing? So we have to change with it!

Let’s face it, digital media is not going to slow down.  What I see happening in businesses at present is people are scared of opening up to possibilities around digital marketing and don’t act at all.  Thinking that they might not get it right paralyses them from doing anything, and these businesses will be left behind watching those that take action reap the rewards.

I often hear from my clients that what stops them from embracing and using digital marketing is they are afraid they don’t know it well enough, and it might not work.  That, to me is just a fear of failure.  It’s not procrastination.  It’s more about their ego.  Do you think Steve Jobs (Apple) or Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) ever thought they would fail?  Not a chance!

Act like it is impossible to fail!  Take action, seek qualified advice, and believe it is possible!

Next time that little voice in your head says, “What if I do that promotion or bid for that contract or ask that someone for a date,” and worry that you will fail, just stop and replace it with, “What if I do that  promotion and it works?” then just watch the possibilities open up.

I would like to suggesta great book written by an amazing Australian, Graeme Alford,  who had to unintentionally destroy his family and his career and go to jail before he realised he had to change or he would die a young man in jail. His triumph over adversity is a clear message to us all. Never give up! The book is called “Never Give Up: The Power of Mental Toughness.”
